Walking Through the Pages of My Life

Picture
Welcome.

I'm originally from New York City. Where once I worked as a corporate bookkeeper, I now live in a small city in Central Connecticut making my way as a life artist, community member, bookseller, workshop facilitator, life coach, tutor, daughter and friend.

While working on Park Avenue and attending CCNY, I had the great fortune of participating in dozens of writing and spiritual workshops: classes such as nuts and bolts workshops at The "Remember the Magic"  Conference sponsored by The International Women's Writing Guild, to goddess study with Dorothy Randall Gray, to workshops entitled "Fearless" and "Empower Yourself" with Barry Neal Kaufman and the staff of The Option Institute in the Berkshires in New York state. These workshops have shaped me into an inspired and well-rounded writer with a background in the healing arts.

I've also studied acting at HB Studios in Manhattan where actors such as Candice Bergen, Ann Bancroft and Debbie Allen graduated.  One of my hopes is to establish a business where my love of theater and performance art, along with my writing skills and my love of helping people, will help empower others.  Live theater can create a much more complex and layered impact and impression than most literature can hope to create or achieve.

I am a community member and retreat attendee of The Big Glow Retreats, a worldwide group organized by Brian Piergrossi: life coach, poet and spiritual lecturer throughout the U.S. It was my good fortune to have been chosen in both 2010 as a facilitator at The Stone House in Mebane, North Carolina and again this year where I also led an art journaling workshop at Wild Meadows Farm in Schellsburg, Pennsylvania.

I believe in community work.  Between 1995 and 2004, I raised over thirteen thousand dollars through the famed AIDS WALK for GMHC (Gay Men's Health Crisis).  Last year I also raised money for breast cancer through Making Strides for The American Cancer Society. I am also a board member of Church Street Community Services, an organization that assists 'at risk' youth in The Greater Waterbury area. We sponsor a martial arts program designed to improve childrens' self-esteem and we  provide various workshops including Saturday tutoring.
